A sample photo collage.
If you have a plain wall in your home that you have no idea decorate, it is time to take out the photographs stored in old shoe boxes or photo albums. You can also use digital photos that are kept on compact discs and you rarely enjoy. You can decorate the wall with a beautiful and meaningful photo collage.
Instructions
1. Use a corkboard that is proportionate in size with the wall that you are decorating.
2. Hang the corkboard securely on the wall using a hammer and nails, or picture hooks. Use the level to make sure it is not slanted.
3. Gather old and new photographs. Make copies of the photographs instead of using the originals. Print out digital photos stored in compact discs or on memory sticks.
4. Cut out the subjects from the photos to form the collage. Outline the position for each of your photos on the corkboard, placing each image so that you can show a sequence of events or tell a story. You can mix photographs from your travels or family gatherings, so that your collage has a cohesive theme.
5. After you have outlined the positions of the photographs, start putting a couple of adhesive tapes on the back of each photo, and then one by one stick them on the corkboard following the outline.
6. Place labels or captions made of words cut out from magazines and old books, or use computer-generated printouts.
7. Cover with clear plastic to keep the collage protected, or keep it exposed and wipe it regularly with a feather duster.
