Auditoriums typically have a large amount of seating to be covered when painting ceilings.
Auditoriums exist in city art districts, high schools and college campuses. They usually house various events such as concerts, plays, and even movies. Some auditoriums are built to a large scale, while others are built on a smaller scale. Choosing the right color for painting the auditorium is important. You should keep in mind the average amount of time a patron will spend inside during certain events, so you want the color to be pleasant and easy on the eyes.
Instructions
1. Use the painter's tape to trim off the borders of windows, floor trim and ceiling trim. Make sure you have applied the tape firmly to the surfaces.
2. Place the tarps around the floor area. If the seats are installed, cover the seating in the auditorium as well.
3. Put on the goggles. Place the roller into the primer and begin to apply it to the walls inside the auditorium. Run the roller up and down against the wall until the primer has been applied in smooth even coats. Place the ladder under the ceiling area. Attach the paint roller extension and add primer to the ceiling. You may need to apply two coats. Allow a few hours of drying time for the primer.
4. Open the paint color you have chosen. Use a paint stick to stir the paint and mix it up. Pour the paint into the paint tray. and take the painter roller and dip it into the paint. Press the roller against the painter screen in the paint container to remove any heavy excess paint.
5. Begin painting the walls. Use the large sponge roller for the wall areas, smaller paint brushes for the trim and window areas. Apply the first coat.
6. Wait a few hours for the paint to dry before you apply the second or even third coat. After the paint dries for each coat, repeat the process until the project is completed.
7. Climb the ladder and using the paint roller with the extension attached to the end, begin to apply the paint to the ceiling. Roll the brush back and forth until the paint is applied evenly. Allow drying time between coats.
