Remove Enamel Fresh paint From Clothing

If you've ever completed a house painting project, you were probably pleased with how good your room looked. However, you might not have been pleased with the new appearance of your clothes. No matter how careful you are, a painting job almost always results in clothing that is spattered with paint. But your painting outfit doesn't have to be ruined; it's easy to remove enamel paint from your clothing.

Instructions

For Simple Paint Stains

1. Squeeze several drops of liquid dish detergent onto the paint stain.

2. Rub with your fingers or by rubbing the fabric against itself. You can also scrub with an old toothbrush.

3. Let the detergent sit on the stain for several minutes.

4. Launder the clothing as usual, using warm or cold water.

5. Check to make sure stain is gone before drying.

For Difficult Stains

6. Turn the clothing inside-out so you can apply stain remover to the other side of the fabric from the spot where the stain is.

7. Look on the paint can label to see what solvent is recommended for use as a thinner. If there is no recommended thinner listed, use turpentine.

8. Apply a small amount of turpentine to the inside of the clothing on the opposite side from the stain. Let sit for a few minutes.

9. Rinse with cold water.

10. Launder in cold or warm water.

11. Check to make sure stain is completely gone before drying. Repeat all steps as necessary.
