When playing The Sims 3, it is important to know throw a good party. Parties can boost Sims' relationships with others and put them in a good mood. But throwing a good party is not as simple as just inviting people over to your Sim's house. You must prepare your Sim's home to be ready to entertain and feed guests so that the party is a success.
Instructions
1. Select your Sim's cell phone and choose the "Throw Party" option. Choose what type of party you wish to have: a house party, a birthday party, a wedding party, a funeral or a campaign fundraiser. The last three will be options only if your Sim is engaged, someone has died or your Sim has reached a certain point on the political career trajectory, respectively. Choose between formal, swim and casual attire. Select a time for your party to begin.
2. Invite people from the list provided to your party. The success of your party does not depend on the relationships you currently have with people, so you don't need to invite only Sims who are already good friends with your Sim. The exception is if your Sim is a politician throwing a campaign fundraiser. In this case it is best to invite good friends who are more likely to donate large amounts of money. Do not invite people who dislike your Sim, as chances are good they won't bother showing up.
3. Prepare food to serve at the party. If your Sim is a good cook, have him prepare a meal. If your Sim is not a good cook, you may order a pizza. This one meal may not be enough, however, if you have invited more than eight Sims. If you are throwing the party in your Sim's home, you may wish to buy the buffet table. Serving food from the buffet table costs 250 Simoleans, but it may be worth it if there will be many guests.
4. Decorate your home with paintings, rugs, statues and other decor. Sims' moods are automatically boosted by a well-decorated environment, and this will help to ensure that they leave your party having enjoyed themselves. Clean the house to prevent any negative moodlets from appearing because of a dirty environment.
5. Purchase entertaining items like stereos, TVs and games. Dancing, listening to music, watching television and playing games will boost your guests' "Fun" and "Social" meters. These activities also boost Sims' relationships with one another.
6. If you are throwing a birthday party, buy a birthday cake, and once most of your guests have arrived, select the option to "Blow Out Candles." You may then select any Sim to age up. If it is a wedding party, select the Sim to whom your Sim is engaged, and select the option to "Have Wedding." Be sure to do this early on in the party, as people will begin to leave after three hours.
