Gold flecks and wheat stems create a soft embellishment.
Designing a photo frame for a digital picture enables you to enhance components of the picture, as well as add a personal touch that makes the picture even more special. The design can be as simple as painting an unfinished frame one color that complements the picture. It can be as extravagant as painting special shapes and colors on the frame, or gluing small objects to it. You are limited by only your own creativity.
Instructions
1. Select a plain frame that is the correct size for your picture. Put the picture into it temporarily.
2. Pinks and violets in the frame would draw out the colors in this photo.
Get a variety of paint samples or make swatches yourself. Pick colors that are in the picture that will enhance it. Check a color wheel to identify complementary colors; for example, yellow is the complement of violet. A small touch of a complementary color tends to intensify the other color, and this can be an advantage for some pictures. Put the swatches on the frame and remove any colors that you do not feel comfortable with.
3. Cementing small seashells in a corner with pebbles along the side and bottom of the frame would expand the child's treasures.
Pick a theme for your frame design that fits the photo subject. Collect items that work in the theme and fit on the frame. Cut out pictures or shapes. Consider painting on patterns and designs to give a little flair to the frame. Use your imagination; the possibilities are unlimited.
4. Delicate swirls of color work very well.
Place all the items you have made or collected around the frame, and arrange them in varying positions to start forming your design. Eliminate items that do not look appropriate, are too large or distract from the picture. See how they coordinate with the paint colors you have chosen and delete any items that conflict.
5. Eliminate items and colors and arrangements until you come up with a final design. Step back and look at it to see what the design does for the picture. Adjust as needed.
6. Paint the frame with the color or colors you have chosen. Allow it to dry completely. Apply spray adhesive to the back of each item as you are ready to attach it. If you plan to layer some items over others, allow the first layer to dry completely before applying the next one.
7. Let all the design items dry and check that they are secure. Put the picture permanently into the frame.
