Make a box to hold the valentines you receive.
Valentine boxes are a fun way to both make a holiday craft and have a decorative receptacle for the valentines you receive. Making a valentine box is simple, and almost everything you need can often be found around the house or in craft supply stores. Making a valentine box is a craft that can be tailored for both young children and tweens. Gather your scissors, your paint and your glue, and get ready to unleash your creativity.
Instructions
1. Paint the box and lid in your desired color and allow it to dry thoroughly. If the original pattern of the box still shows through, add another coat.
2. Cut a 4-inch by 1-inch slot into the top of the lid using a box cutter.
3. Attach stickers, plastic jewels and hearts cut out of construction paper to the box, or simply paint whatever design you wish in a color other than the base color.
4. Cut the ribbon to equal the circumference of the box lid. Carefully glue the measured amount to the outside edge of the lid and allow it to dry thoroughly
5. Use the colored markers to write your name on the lid of the finished box so that you can start storing your valentines.
