In order to recycle old rubber tires, many people opt to use them in the garden for planters. You may feel that their dull, ordinary black color would cause them to be an eyesore, but with just a little time and effort, the tires can be as bright and colorful as your imagination allows. You can even paint them to match your house or to compliment the flowers you plant inside them.
Instructions
1. Thoroughly clean the tire. Brush off any debris, and then scrub it with an ammonia-based cleaner to remove any grease that may be clinging to the tire.
2. Rinse the tire with clean water. Allow it to dry completely overnight.
3. Spread the newspaper on your driveway, and lay the tire on top of the newspaper.
4. With the spray can about 10 inches from the surface of the tire, spray a thin, even coat of paint the entire way around the tire. Allow the paint to dry according to the manufacturer's instructions.
