There are countless interactive games to play when you are bored and have someone else to play with. Some ideas make use of playing cards, jump ropes, chalk and masking tape -- all things most people have lying around the house.
Cards
Playing card games is old-fashioned family fun. There are a number of games for all ages, such as old maid, go fish, war and crazy eights. One game with cards that can be challenging and tons of fun is building a house of cards. This can go on for as long as you have cards to keep building.
Jump Rope
Jumping rope is enjoyable on its own, but using that same jump rope for other silly games is easy too. You can straighten the rope while holding it up high and slowly lower it to make a limbo game, or stretch it out down low and raise it to make a hurdling game. Wiggling the rope about on the floor for the little ones while they have to get away from the snake is a game that gets everyone laughing.
Chalk
A simple thing like chalk can be fun. The old standbys of tic-tac-toe and hopscotch are still entertaining. You can make a game of drawing with chalk. One person starts the picture by drawing one line or one thing and then lets the next person continue the drawing. Keep going back and forth adding to the picture until the drawing is complete. It may be unrecognizable, but to the players it will be a masterpiece.
Masking/Painters Tape
Masking or painters' tape can bring hopscotch inside by putting it on your floor. It comes off easily, so clean up should not be a problem. Another game with the tape is an obstacle course. You can use it to mark off sections of the floor that you can and cannot touch, and make arrows to show the way. The possibilities go as far as your imagination, so if you think it up, tape it down.
