Win Painting Bids

Design a precise bid to win painting contracts.

Winning painting bids can mean the difference between a failed or successful painting business. Knowing craft a painting bid is essential to suit the needs of your clients and to make a profit. Remain confident when proposing your bid and use a precise formula to show clients you are charging a fair price.

Instructions

1. Be specific in your bid. Apply a formula that shows your clients how much you charge per square foot of painting. Determine how many square feet you can paint per hour -- 150 sq. ft., for instance. Add together the cost of supplies and the wage you would like to earn per hour -- $20 and $35, as respective examples, total of $55. Divide the total amount of your supplies and wage by the hour square footage -- 55 divided by 150, for example -- to get a charge of $0.33 per square foot. Charging clients a per-day cost is too general and shows a lack of specificity in your bid.

2. Use top-of-the-line materials. Select paints that contain minimal mercury content and are environmentally sound. Additionally, utilize paints that emit minimal odor and offer ultraviolet light protection. Note your commitment to keeping clients safe and satisfied by mentioning your use of quality products in every bid.

3. Provide satisfied customer testimonials to all potential clients. Compile a brochure of quotes or a short DVD of interviews from previous clients. Include both professional businesses and private homeowners to show the wide range of customers you have served.

4. Offer a 100-percent satisfaction guarantee. Explain to potential clients that any dissatisfaction with the work will result in your company returning to the premises to make any necessary adjustments -- free of charge.
