Make your motor home feel cozier by painting the walls.
You spend a lot of time in your motor home, so you probably want it to have a fresh look that reflects your personality. A relatively easy way to accomplish this is by painting it. One problem with painting a motor home's interior is that most walls are covered in vinyl. You have to prepare the walls in a way you would not have to for other types of dwellings.
Instructions
1. Use a degreaser on the walls to remove any oil or dirt. Place the fine grit sandpaper on a sanding block and gently sand the walls to roughen the surface a bit. This will help the paint stick to the walls better. Remove any sandpaper grit or sand with a rag.
2. Tape the edges of the walls with painters tape. Make sure that you cover any area that you do not wish to be painted on.
3. Place the oil-based primer in a painting tray and paint the walls smoothly, using a large paint brush or a roller. Allow to dry completely.
4. Paint over the primer with a latex paint of the finish that you desire. Any type of finish will work once the primer is in place. Paint one or two coats and allow to dry completely. Remove the painters tape from the walls.
