Reflective Fresh paint Information

The reflective white stripe may improve highway safety.

Reflective paint has a number of safety, environmental and decorative uses. This versatile product reflects rays of sunshine to improve visibility on public highways and to cool homes in summer.

Uses

You probably drive past reflective paint every day. One of its primary uses is in reflective stripes on roads to aid drivers in darkness and poor weather when visibility is low. Airport runways also use reflective paint to guide pilots on landing strips. Some reflective paints can be used on rooftops to deflect the sun's rays and keep homes cool in the summer. Reflective spray paints are available for making bikes and strollers more visible to drivers.

Manufacturing

Depending on the preferred method of application, reflective beads are added to paint either before or at the time of application. It may take more than seven pounds of reflective beads per gallon of paint to achieve the desired effect.

Considerations

Cooling costs and carbon emissions can be cut significantly with the use of reflective rooftop paint.
