Northwest Ohio Festivals & Festivals

Northwest Ohio is bordered by the beautiful Lake Erie to the north.

Northwest Ohio is home to several significant U.S. cities, such as Toledo and Bowling Green, and a number of state parks and three national wildlife refuges. Bordered by Lake Erie to the north and home to the Great Black Swamp, northwest Ohio also hosts several fairs and festivals throughout the year, which celebrate the area's rich heritage and cultural diversity.

Black Swamp Arts Festival

The Black Swamp Arts Festival is held annually in Bowling Green, Ohio. The festival has been held since 1993 and celebrates local artists, combining the fine arts, music and youth art from the area with larger venues from national and international artists. 2010 concerts included performances by saxophonist Branford Marsalis, Empire Brass, pianist Robert Levin and the Bowling Green Philaharmonia. The festival is typically held in September, and lasts from Friday to Saturday. Concessions are available, and the festival features a wide variety of ethnic foods, such as Thai, Italian and Cajun dishes, as well as local seafood and desserts.
