What Wall Colors Inspire Creativeness

Science has long recognized the connection between colors and creativity. The colors and color schemes with which you surround yourself have a direct influence on your emotions and creativity. While certain colors offer measurable benefits to the imagination, you don't want them to be a distraction. Combining colors in a way that brings about the desired emotions can best inspire creativity.

Energy

Bright strong colors work well in inspiring energy. The color red is so stimulating that it can physically affect people by raising their blood pressure. Red empowers the mind with passion and drama. Yellow has been linked to increasing a person's vital energy and promoting a happy and cheerful disposition.

Balance

Mental balance is also helpful to creativity. The colors green and blue have been shown to bring about feelings of peace and tranquility, thereby calming the mind to allow creativity to occur. Just as red increases blood pressure; the color blue can cause your blood pressure to decrease.

Relaxation/Spiritual

Certain colors promote the spiritual side of creativity. The color purple invokes the intuitive aspects of the mind, inspiring curiosity which leads to creativity. Pink has a calming effect on most people, fostering affection and social acceptance.

Unity/ Discipline

Unifying colors to bring out their combined strengths is best done on a white background. Pure white has the effect of purity and energy; when used to showcase other colors, the strengths of those colors can be enhanced. Similarly, the color black also has its place in inspiring creativity; black promotes discipline, independent thought and strength, all aspects enhancing creativity.
