Stucco can be painted with a spray painter.
Weather and sun damage can make the finish on a stucco house look worn over time. Spruce it up by spray-painting the exterior. Just be sure the surface is clean and in good condition. Because of the ridges and pits in stucco, go slowly, in a sweeping motion, and plan on at least two coats of paint. Done right, your repainted stucco exterior will last for many years.
Instructions
1. Power-wash the stucco exterior and allow it to dry thoroughly.
2. Mask off areas that could get hit with over-spray. Cover windows, doors and trim using brown paper or plastic panels and duct tape to secure in place.
3. Spray on the tinted primer with the paint sprayer to give the exterior a good coat. Use the paint shield to block as much over-spray as possible. Allow to dry according to manufacturer's instructions. Clean out the paint sprayer per instructions as well.
4. Spray the primered stucco with exterior paint, using the spray gun held 10 to 18 inches away from the surface. Use a slow, steady sweeping motion and spray at different angles to cover completely. Use the paint shield to block over-spray. Adjust the pressure and the pattern with the nozzle. Apply as many coats as needed.
5. Thoroughly clean the paint sprayer equipment using soap and water for latex or solvent for oil-based paints, according to the manufacturer's instructions.
