Make An Inside Ride On "Rct3"

"Roller Coaster Tycoon 3," or "RCT3," is a 3-D amusement park simulator that features an in-depth roller coaster creation system. You can design a variety of roller coasters, including steel, wooden, suspended and water coasters, and you can also customize your coaster's performance to maximize customer satisfaction. You can even build roller coasters inside of buildings, which is a vital component for creating specific themes for specific areas of the park. Building an indoor roller coaster can increase the cost of a coaster by thousands of dollars, so only build an indoor roller coaster if you have substantial income or a money reserve.

Instructions

1. Build or place a roller coaster as you normally would. All the roller coasters can be enclosed, but compact roller coaster types such as the Virginia Reel and Wild Mouse are easier to enclose in a building. Leave an open area of two to three tiles around the perimeter of the roller coaster for building walls and other objects.

2. Switch the roller coaster to "Test" mode. Make any necessary changes to the roller coaster's design to avoid accidents and increase its performance. Maintain the perimeter of two to three open tiles around the roller coaster if you need to make design changes.

3. Lay out a waiting queue and an exit path and connect the roller coaster paths to the park's main walking paths. Use straight paths to avoid conflicts with the roller coaster's building walls.

4. Build a single-level wall or base wall one to two tiles from the roller coaster's outer railings to avoid conflict with the roller coaster rail. Place additional wall units to form a perimeter wall around the roller coaster. Don't build "Wall with Door" tiles on the walkways, as these doors are cosmetic and nonfunctional.

5. Construct additional wall levels on top of the perimeter wall until the walls are higher than the roller coaster by at least one "Full Wall" tile. Hold the "Shift" key while placing the wall to place it on top of the perimeter wall. Place walls above the pathways by holding "Shift" while hovering over the pathways and moving the mouse up.

6. Select the "Flat Roof" tile from the "Buildings" window. Position the roof placement icon on the ground tile below the highest point of the roller coaster and move the mouse up while holding the "Shift" key until the roof placement icon jumps to the minimum safe roof height for the coaster. Raise the roof placement icon until it lines up with the top of the perimeter wall and place the first roof tile. Construct additional roof tiles at the same height until the roof completely covers the area enclosed by the perimeter walls.

7. Adjust the roller coaster's details, such as its name, music and coloring. Switch the roller coaster from "Test" mode to "Open" mode so that customers can ride the roller coaster and provide feedback.
