Possess A Painting Designed Birthday Celebration

Have a Painting Themed Birthday Party

Your favorite little artist's birthday is quickly approaching, and you need to come up with a plan for his or her party. Since children are so frequently reminded to stay in the lines and follow the rules, your birthday boy or girl (and all of the party guests) will have a blast with this theme. It allows for creativity...and a little mess. Moms need not worry. It's fairly easy to clean up after this fun and freeing art party.

Instructions

1. Create or order cute invitations announcing a painting party. Make sure parents know that paint will be involved, advising them to let their kids dress in clothing that might get messy. If you are providing smocks or over-sized shirts, say so; otherwise, encourage all guests to wear something akin to old clothes that can be stained.

2. Buy inexpensive white painter's caps. Set up a table with fabric paints. Hand each guest a cap and, if you are providing them, a smock. Let the children decorate their hats with the fabric paints.

3. Cover a small table with butcher paper or newspaper end-roll, taping it down underneath. Squirt mounds of shaving cream onto the paper and sprinkle with dry Tempera paint powder. Have the kids make a squishy, colorful finger painted mural.

4. Make an artist's palette birthday cake by baking a nine-inch round layer cake. Cut a half circle out of one side to give it a palette shape. Use a small, round cookie cutter or an empty tomato paste can. With such a tool, cut out a thumb hole. Frost the cake white and use coated chocolate candies or gel-style food coloring to make the paint colors on the palette.

5. Give each guest a small bucket with watercolors, a paintbrush and other art supplies as party favors.
