Celebrate a diamond jubilee with friends and family.
The diamond jubilee, or 60th wedding anniversary, is also an event celebrated by kings and queens after ruling for 60 years, such as English monarchs Queens Victoria and Elizabeth II's diamond jubilees in 1896 and 2012, respectively. Table decor for a diamond jubilee celebration can include numerous diamond and diamond-hued features such as glittering diamond-inspired centerpieces. Create dazzling table displays sure to impress the honorees at such a special anniversary celebration.
Instructions
1. Cover tables with either silver or white tablecloths, though variations of either, such as off-white and translucent white, can also work. Silver tablecloths layered with either white or translucent cloths are another option.
2. Make centerpieces by filling clear, tall vases in varying shapes with faux diamonds. Fill each vase about a one-third to one-half full and sink silver, white silk and paper flowers into the diamonds. Make your own paper flowers or order paper flowers online; silk flowers can also be ordered online or through your local florist. Spray paint some or all of the flowers with silver glitter paint, or sprinkle loose silver glitter over each arrangement when placed on the table so glitter can fall around the centerpieces.
3. Sprinkle loose silver sequins, diamond party confetti and faux jewels around the centerpiece. Place a small silver or white candle above and in between each place setting, or use three or four strategically placed candles around the table instead. Use a small silver or white dish or candle holder to house each candle. If desired, paint "60th" or "60" on each candle in silver or white paint.
4. Use white and silver dinnerware with clear drink glasses to complete each table.
