When designing a house, you aim for total client satisfaction. You want clients to step into a completed home and tell you it's exactly what they wanted. Sometimes, you take on the less demanding task of designing your own home and its features. If you want to have some virtual fun with either design experience, try the following online house design games.
Virtual House Design
If you want a real-world design experience, design a house in 3D style at http://www.architectstudio3d.org/AS3d/index.html. Learn about architecture and explore the work of the late architect and interior designer Frank Lloyd Wright, who is on hand to guide you through the design process and offer hints along the way. If you have an older computer and/or a slow Internet connection, work with the non-3D version of the game.
Once you have chosen one or more clients from among 18 people who look like relatives of the popular life-simulator computer game "The Sims," think about your client's needs and what personal information he conveyed to you. Using that information, select a location for the house---either desert, forest, mountainside, rural hilltop, urban or waterfront. From this point, choose a floor plan, height for the house, material to use on the exterior and the roofing.
After selecting exterior features, move on to designing the interior, where you plot out floors, furnishings, openings, room locations and walls. Your final task comes via designing the house's landscape, choosing decorate the outside with various plants, trees and shrubs.
When you have completed your design, take a virtual walk through the house. If you find features you do not like, return to your design and make changes. If you think you have a winning house on your hands, e-mail your work to others and/or submit it to the site's design gallery. Realize that in submitting your design to the gallery, you leave yourself open to criticism from site visitors, who will rate your work and probably show little mercy. In other words, make sure you design a house that has the potential to grace the cover of Architectural Digest magazine.
If you want to leave clients out of your design game and enjoy a less detail-oriented experience, channel your inner child and play a Bob the Builder house design game at http://www.bobthebuilder.com/usa/games_design_a_house.asp. Never mind the house's interior; here, you simply choose the house's shape, and select the kind of chimney, roof and windows you want. Finish your design by painting your house, as well as the landscape (including bushes, mountains and the sky). You can print out your design when you are finished.

If you want to have some fun with interior design, visit http://www.oyunlar1.com/online.php?flash=551. Here, you can select from six different flash design games---from a simple, single room to houses with multiple rooms. With the click of your mouse, you drag furniture and other features from one room to the next as you decide how it all best suits your taste or current mood.
A couple of the single-room design games---My Lovely House and Dream Bedroom---do not let you determine placement of items in the room. However, when you select from numerous decor and style options for bedding, ceiling, dresser, floor, wall and window, your choices instantly appear in the pre-chosen spots, and you can change back and forth between different options.
