Remove paint from the walls of your home using a pressure washer.
There will come a time that your house may be covered with grime, chalk, paint, moss and even environmental pollution. As a result, flaking and peeling of your house paint may occur. Painting over old and flaking paint before applying a new layer of paint often leads to more problems with cracks and bubbles appearing over the old paint. The old paint must be removed. The first step in renovating your house paint is to loosen the old paint and remove it using a pressure washer. Pressure washing is the most effective and efficient way of penetrating and removing paint and buildup on walls.
Instructions
1. Place goggles and gloves on your hands before pressure washing. The goggles and gloves will protect your eyes and hands from flying paint chips.
2. Cover the grass along with lights and other plants around your house with trash bags or any plastic sheets to prevent any damage of flying debris from the pressure washer.
3. Select a nozzle for the washer. The nozzle type determines the water pressure. A nozzle with a very small opening will eject water at a much higher rate. Attach the nozzle to the water pressure hose. Make sure the nozzle connection is secure and tight. A loose nozzle could potentially come off and cause damage.
4. Stand 4 feet away from the painted surface. Spray in sections moving the pressure washer from one side to the other. Firmly hold the washer in a downward, 45-degree angle.
5. Adjust the nozzle’s spray pattern or just install a 15-degree spray tip If your house contains multiple layers of paint. Continue to spray and apply pressure to the paint until it is completely removed.
