Produce A Free Worldwide Virtual Home Building Website

Create a free virtual home building website for your small business.

Exterior and interior design features are essential when creating a virtual home building and design website. The entrepreneur with limited funds can create a simulated version free by selecting design templates offering virtual elements on the Web pages, such as panoramic views, zoom and rotation. Exterior and interior design tools are launched by selecting a home model photo enabling the user to create and view several building combinations. Adding elements such as cost calculations allows the user to generate a budget to share with his general contractor during the home building project.

Instructions

Choosing the Free Design Template

1. Visit Free Stylish Templates or DreamTemplates (see References) for free website design templates as well as free add-ons like virtual elements. Make sure the virtual elements, such as panoramic tools, are included in the selected template as well as features to pan, zoom and rotate specific areas. For instance, rotating the image of the home allows the user to view the building structure from various angles.

2. Register with the selected website provider. A registration account activation button is generally located on the website provider's homepage. This process is also free. The registration process generally requires information such as your name, mailing address, email contact and website name. You cannot create the website without joining, signing up or registering. It is also important to review the provider's cancellation policy.

3. Review other free add-ons such as message boards and blogs. Each free website template and hosting site offers different features. Make sure to review the add-on features according to your home building design concept.

4. Visit Free Website Hosting or FreeWebsites for free website hosting (see References). Keep in mind you will have to register with the hosting site to create an account. This process is also free. A registration application button is generally located on the hosting site's homepage. Though the website hosting is free, you will most likely have to pay a fee for your website's domain name. Each site varies in cost. This step is applicable only if your website provider does not offer you free hosting.

5. Follow the website builder or tutorial according to your template selection. Open the website color swatch palette by clicking on the activation button to choose complementary colors for your website's logo, homepage and Web banner. These sites also include a library browser with predesigned icons in case you do not have an original logo design. It is also activated by clicking on the designated button.

Creating the Virtual Home Building Website

6. Position the navigation menu on the website homepage in a visible area. Create exterior and interior design buttons. For instance, split the navigation menu for exterior and interior design options and features. Include drop-down menus illustrating the features for each section.

7. Draw cells for home model photos like colonial, Victorian or modern, enabling the user to launch the design by clicking on the image. A cell is generally created by dragging the cursor from one corner to the opposite corner until you are satisfied with the size. The uploaded photo image is inserted into the cell according to the template's instructions. Use animated options from the template, such as opening doors as the virtual home's entry point.

8. Create a button generating a construction blueprint as the user adds elements to the design. Make sure the feature allows the user to enter the virtual home by zooming or rotating the blueprint to view placement of home building essentials, such as plumbing, electricity and security, as well as access and entry points.

9. Include a library browser button for exterior design finishes, such as siding, shingles or brick, allowing the user to continue building her virtual home. The library must also include exterior features, such as roofing, garden, pathways and porches. The same applies for exterior lighting and fixtures.

10. Import exterior paint color palette brands, enabling the user to drop the paint onto the home model icon for a realistic view. The color palette must also include trim colors for shutters or window sills. If the website design template does not allow you to import colors, select hues and tones resembling the brand colors.

Creating Virtual Interior Design Tools

11. Create a button for square footage plug-ins, allowing the user to add his own dimensions for new home construction, renovation or remodeling projects. This feature must also include a virtual element like rotation, enabling the user to view the room from different angles.

12. Create a library browser for each room within the home, including models of different shaped rooms, such as kitchens, dens, bedrooms, living rooms and bathrooms. For instance, selecting a galley, L-shaped, U-shaped or island kitchen layout enables the user to accurately choose appliances, storage and cabinet placement as well as lighting and furniture. Allow the user to enter the room virtually from selected entry points or hallways and scope the room layout from different angles.

13. Create a library browser for interior design finishes, such as moldings, doors, window treatments, stairs, rails, cabinets, built-in shelves and displays. You will most likely have to upload photo images of each finish. Most free Web design sites do not offer specific pre-existing images. For instance, if the user selects stairs, the library must include architectural character, such as a spiral staircase. If a disabled person is part of the home building, different ramp styles must be included.

14. Import brand name interior paint colors for walls and trims as well as wallpaper swatches. If you can not import colors, select hues and tones resembling brand colors. Include other options like exposed brick or paneling for walls. Make sure the user is able to view the painted room as if he were entering the decorated space from specific entry points, creating the virtual experience.

15. Create a button for flooring, such as wood, cork, tiles, vinyl, carpeting and rugs. Offering different options for each feature, like wood stain brand colors, enables the user to drop in the color within the floor space for an accurate view.
