Duron offers a variety of bright and primary colors.
Duron Paints and Wallcoverings, in business since the late 1940s, manufactures exterior and interior paints. Duron paints are designed for commercial and residential spaces in a variety of colors and hues. Before you commit to a color, Duron allows you to take home a sample of the paint and try it out. Once you decide on the best color for your space, completing the job takes just a day or two, depending on the size of your job.
Instructions
1. Use Duron's "paint selection wizard," on the Duron website, to determine what kind of paint is recommended for your project. Based on the type of surface being painted and the desired finish, Duron can suggest the most appropriate line of paint.
2. Choose a paint color for your project. Duron recommends light colors to make a space appear larger, and dark colors to make a room appear smaller and to absorb light. Warm colors, such as blue and green, promote relaxation. Warm colors, including yellow, are most stimulating.
3. Use Duron "color-to-go" samples to test your chosen paint colors on a small section of the wall you intend to paint. View the paint under the lighting conditions typical for the room, and view it during both day and evening hours to make sure the color is acceptable during all conditions.
4. Sand the walls with a fine sandpaper and fill holes with Spackle using a putty knife. Wash the walls with a light detergent, then rinse.
5. Tape off the ceiling, baseboards and door trim with painter's tape. Lay down a drop cloth.
6. Dip a 2-inch brush into the paint bucket and paint the perimeter of the wall. Start in a top corner and work along the ceiling, then the corners, then the baseboards.
7. Pour paint into a tray and saturate a paint roller. Begin to fill in the interior of the wall, working in 3-foot-by-3-foot sections. Roll the paint in a "W" pattern, starting at the top of the wall and working downward.
8. Roll over the borders between each section to blend them together.
9. Allow the paint to dry completely -- drying times may vary depending on the paint line used. Consult the paint can to determine the drying time for your paint. Apply a second coat, if you are covering a dark shade or in a high-traffic area, after the first coat is completely dry.
