Fix Drainage In Wall Fresh paint

Careless painting can result in unsightly drips.

Paint drips are the unfortunate result of a hasty paint job. If you gather too much paint on your roller or paintbrush before applying the paint to the wall, you will often end up with unsightly drips dried onto the surface you've painted. The size and depth of a drip will depend on the amount of paint originally applied, but even small imperfections can mar the face of an otherwise attractive paint job. Fortunately, paint drips do not have to be permanent parts of your wall's texture. You can correct these mishaps fairly easily.

Instructions

1. Scrape the largest paint drips off with a small razor knife. This may leave an uneven spot where the paint has been pulled away, but you'll fix this in the following steps.

2. Sand down uneven areas caused by the razor method, as well as any small drips. Use 220-grit sandpaper and sand very lightly in one direction only. Sanding in this manner will give you the most control over how much of the surface is rubbed away and should help prevent over-sanding.

3. Touch up any spots where the paint has been pulled away completely and the color beneath is showing through. If you are sanding only minor drips, this may not be a problem. Apply a small amount of paint in the same color as the wall with a medium-size paintbrush or small roller.
