Adobe Photoshop is a program that can do almost every graphics job you have, but it is also quite complex; some tasks, such as painting portraits, can be time-consuming. If you want an easy way to create a portrait in Photoshop from a photograph, all you need is the right plug-in, which in this case is Virtual Painter.
Instructions
1. Open Photoshop. Then open the image you want to turn into a painted portrait.
2. Go to "Filters" and click on the "Virtual Painter" plug-in. A new window will open for the Virtual Painter. You will see a small preview of the current settings as applied to your image.
3. Go to "Filter" (within Virtual Painter), and select the desired type of painting, such as "Oil" or "Watercolor."
4. Go to "Material," and select the type of paper surface you want the program to simulate, such as paper or canvas.
5. In "Adjustments," adjust the various factors controlling things like color and focus. Then click "OK," and you are done.
