Make An Icicle Painting Craft

Icicle painting crafts are wonderful interactive projects that children can do any time of the year. With just a few craft materials, you can make a beautiful collage of icicles that can be laminated and used for a place mat, displayed on the refrigerator, or hung up on the walls of your home. Children of all ages will enjoy making these shimmering pictures, and they make a great activity for the classroom as well.

Instructions

1. Place some old newspapers or plastic bags out on a flat work surface to protect it from dripping paint, and to catch stray glitter.

2. Lay a sheet of blue construction paper on the work surface, and open your glue container.

3. Squeeze a drop of glue about the size of a dime or a nickel in the top left-hand corner of the construction paper, near the top edge.

4. Carefully pick up the piece of construction paper and hold it upright and let the white craft glue gently slide down the paper.

5. Keep repeating steps 3 through 4, working your way across the top of the paper, until you have several icicles.

6. Sprinkle silver glitter onto the glue icicles while they are still wet to make them sparkle like ice.

7. Let the glue icicles dry, and then pick up the paper and shake off any excess glitter.
