There are a couple different ways you can add glitter to your paint. You can add coarse salt to tempera paint. As the light hits it, it'll add a shimmer to your artwork. You can also sprinkle glitter directly into the paint you're using. This effect works for any type of paint, including craft paints and house paint.
Instructions
1. Mix up tempera powder paint. Only mix as much as you're going to use in one sitting.
2. Add coarse salt right before use your paint, or sprinkle the course salt over the finished product. If you add it too soon, it'll dissolve. Table salt will also work, but since it's smaller, it won't show as readily as coarse salt.
3. Sprinkle glitter into the paint. You can use any color or style of glitter, and it can be added to any kind of paint, including finger paints or craft paints.
4. Stir well to ensure the glitter gets evenly mixed throughout the paint.
5. Add more sparkle by sprinkling glitter over the paint while it's still wet. When the paint dries, it'll act as a glue, adhering the glitter to whatever you painted.
