Hand-painted bulbs are a popular Christmas craft.
Attending a large Christmas craft show can feel like stepping into Santa's workshop. With all of the booths full of sparkly holiday goodies, competition for customers can be fierce. When participating in a Christmas craft show, fill your table with uncommon but useful items. If you offer variety of imaginative holiday art, you may find your table getting more than its fair share of attention.
Character Candle Holders
Create candle holders that look like tradition holiday characters, such as Mr. and Mrs. Claus, snowmen or elves. Shape them using air-dry clay and paint the hardened figures using bright acrylic paint and a gloss finish. Create the depression for the candle by pushing a taper about 1/2-inch into the top of each figure while the clay is still soft.
Table Linens
With so much entertaining going on over the holidays, Christmas table linens are some of the few decorative items that also have a practical use. Create festive napkins and tablecloths by cutting and edging attractive holiday-themed fabrics. If you own an embroidery machine or have experience with needlework, customize each item with an artistic holiday design of your own creation.
Santa's House
An elaborate Christmas dollhouse can be an eye-catching big-ticket item to offer for sale at a winter craft show. Buy an unpainted wooden dollhouse from a craft store. Paint it bright red, green and white. Sculpt Mr. and Mrs. Claus, elves, and a team of reindeer out of air-drying clay. Paint the figures in festive holiday colors. Decorate the inside of the house in a Christmas theme. Make one room Santa's workshop; fill it with small toys and a workbench. Put a tiny Christmas tree in the front room, lit with miniature decorative lights. Load the attic with presents waiting to be delivered to good girls and boys.
