Make Money on Saturdays Face Painting
Who doesn't love face painting! Who doesn't love money. In this economic crisis, we need to use our time and talents wisely. The start-up for this small business is minimal, and the possibilities are endless. Follow these simple steps and you have my guarantee that you will make money every single Saturday!
Instructions
1. Purchase your supplies. I use snazaroo paints because they are hypo allergenic. I only buy the 22 color refill, because it paints 140 full faces and at least 500 cheek designs. Other than that, you only need paint brushes, water, a cup a table, and two chairs. You might investigate the permit requirements for your city. My business license cost $35 a year, and you will make that your first Saturday.
2. Learn a few designs and practice! I started with my own kids, and we all had a great time! I learned a few quick butterfly designs on YOUTUBE, and some quick boy designs as well. Practice makes perfect, even if you are not artistically inclined.
3. Now that you have mastered your designs, it's time to load up the car and start painting. Look for a park that has several jumpers set up. While it is true that you were not invited to these parties, they occur at public parks. You will be no more annoying to parents than the ice cream man.
4. Pick the park that has the most people, the most jumpers, and the nicest vehicles. Also, go no earlier than 2:00, you want the party goers to have already eaten their cake.
5. Set up camp, and start painting the faces of your own children. Then, send them out to play while you enjoy a cola. Soon, kids will be asking "where did you get your face painted?" and your kids will point to you. Kids will come in droves. It's important that you don't charge, per se. Say you are doing it for donations. Parents will pay.
6. Try to stay until the sun starts to go down. This can be hard, because you will develop a line. Offer a limited amount of designs because most children are not timely decider. Also, tell insistent mothers that you won't paint an infant who resists. It's your show after all. It also takes less time to paint a full face than a small cheek design. I don't know why, but it does. I can paint a full face in under three minutes, and a cheek design takes me five! Encourage the full face! Following these steps, you will make $20-$40 in just a few hours. That is enough to go our for pizza, or even gas up your car! Have fun!
