Bottlebrush trees are a type of tree most common in parts of Australia and New Caledonia. Bottlebrushes can be extremely attractive plants, and are a great addition to your yard. The crimson bottlebrush is a particularly attractive variation, and raising your own from a seed is both a rewarding endeavor and one which leads to an aesthetically pleasing end product.
Instructions
1. In a warm environment, store the unopened fruit in a brown paper bag until the fruit opens up and releases the seeds.
2. Prepare a bed for the seeds by adding seeding mix where you will be planting your bottlebrush.
3. Plant the seeds in early spring.
4. Water the seeds frequently until they sprout. Crimson bottlebrushes germinate best in moist soil.
5. Begin fertilizing around the plant when the plant is flowering.
6. Prune the plant if needed only after it has begun flowering.
