Suggestions For A Neon Party

Neon sticks and accessories will brighten up your party.

When planning an evening party, consider a neon party that will have a lasting impression on your guests. Have the guests eagerly awaiting your party date by preparing glowing invitations, decorations and a few games. With some black lights and a few supplies, you have everything you need to create a bright neon party your friends will be talking about for weeks to come.

Invitations

Use invisible glow-in-the-dark paint to write the party details on black or white card stock. Include a note with each invitation telling the guests that they must read the invitation in the dark. Also, include a few glow-in-the-dark temporary tattoos in the invitation and tell your guests to wear them to the party. Tell your guest to wear white or bright colors to the party to make sure they glow. Plan the party start time for after it gets dark to make sure the neon glowing is at its best.

Decorations

Hang black butcher paper on all of the windows to make the party area extra dark. The darker the area the brighter the neon will shine. Activate several glow sticks and insert one in several white balloons. Use a group of glow sticks as a centerpiece and attach a group of balloons to it. Cover all the furniture around the party area with white sheets so it will glow in the dark. Hang several black lights around the party area and chancge any regular light bulbs to black light bulbs. Use black tablecloths on all tables with glow-in-the-dark tableware. As party guests arrive, give them each a glow stick, glow necklace and glow bracelet.

Activities

Give each party guest a plain white T-shirt or hat. Place several bottles of glow-in-the-dark paint, glow puff paint, paintbrushes and sponges for the guests to design their own glow shirts or hats. After the shirt or hat dries, the guests can wear them and take them home as a memento of the glow party. You can also place highlighters and non-toxic glow-in-the-dark paint on a table for guests to use. They can create designs on their body and faces for the party.

Games

Play an outdoor game of glow volleyball by securing a glow necklace around a volleyball with clear tape. Place a volleyball net in the yard and divide the guests into two teams. Play a game of volleyball and the first team to 15 points wins the game. For an indoor game, try a game of glow freeze dance. Each guest should have several glow necklaces, bracelets and glow sticks for this game. Play music and have the guests dance. When the music stops, the last player to freeze is out of the game. Any player caught moving while the music is off, is out of the game. The last player standing wins the game.
