Responsibilities of a Paint Color Mixer
Paint color mixers work at your local home improvement store. They assist customers by helping them choose a paint color and then mixing the necessary paint colors for the customer. A single interior or exterior paint shade is often created by combining several different colors, making the position of a paint color mixer necessary.
Paint-Mixing Machine
One of the most important responsibilities of a paint color mixer is to understand how a paint-mixing machine works and know properly maintain it. The paint color mixer must know mix different products correctly to achieve the right consistency of color and product on the machine, including paint, stains and lacquer. The paint color mixer takes the container of base paint, attaches it to the machine and adds in the correct amount of paint, thinner or solvent to create the desired color.
Customer Service
Not only is a paint color mixer responsible for being able to correctly mix requested paint colors, they also must be able to provide good customer service. A paint color mixer must assist customers on a daily basis and be able to meet their expectations with regard to the paint color that they request. Being able to meet and exceed customer expectations while continuing to perform other duties of their job is important to the job of paint color mixer.
Mixing Duties
Most paint-mixing machines are not automatic machines. They require the paint color mixer to be able to calculate and combine different colors of paint or stain and solvent in order to create the correct consistency and color. The paint color mixer must also be able to lift several canisters of paint and attach them to the paint-mixing machine as well as operate the machine to ensure that it correctly combines the ingredients to make the right kind and shade of paint.
