Throw A Tween Health spa Party On A Tight Budget

Tweens would love a little pampering at a spa party.

When you want to throw a tween spa party on a budget, think homemade as much as possible. Save money by making spa party supplies in your kitchen, such as facial masks, salads and fruit punch. Do invest in fresh manicure and pedicure supplies for sanitary reasons, but don't hire a professional to do the job. Paint the nails yourself or ask a talented friend to help. The key is to make tweens feel special and pampered. Since most tweens have not yet been to fabulous spas, they'll be quite happy with any attention you provide.

Instructions

Preparing

1. Buy manicure and pedicure supplies at a discount beauty store including small bars of individual soaps, hand mirrors, nail files, toe separators, several colors of nail polish and at least two plastic basins for foot soaking.

2. Buy the ingredients for spa food including romaine lettuce, feta cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, black olives and Greek salad dressing for Mediterranean salads. Buy lemons for chilled water. Buy pineapple orange juice, club soda and fresh oranges for spa cocktails. Prepare salads and cocktails on the day of the party.

3. Buy oatmeal for an exfoliating oatmeal facial mask to prepare on the day of the party.

4. Wash and fold all of your bath towels. Check to see if you have at least two bath towels per guest.

5. Invite tweens on a selected day and time and ask each to bring her own pajamas, robe and slippers. Call each one to save money on invitations.

Arrival, Facials and Lunch

6. Welcome the girls and ask them to change into pajamas, bathrobes and slippers. Offer them pony tail holders or hair bands to get their hair off their faces.

7. Offer girls fruit punch cocktails. Pour equal parts of pineapple orange juice and club soda over ice. Add fresh orange slices. Make facial mask by combining a third of a cup of warm water with 3/4 cup of dry oatmeal per tween and mix until it's a smooth paste.

8. Seat the girls at the kitchen table and distribute hand mirrors and portions of facial mask. Instruct them to apply masks on their own faces using their fingers. Take pictures of the funny faces.

9. Allow masks to dry. Hand out individual soaps and fresh towels to each tween. Instruct each to wash her face in the bathroom.

10. Serve salads and chilled water with lemon slices.

Manicures and Pedicures

11. Seat girls in comfortable chairs. Fill plastic basins with warm water and begin soaking tweens' feet. Change the basin water for each tween.

12. Ask tweens to select polish colors for toenails and fingernails.

13. Dry, massage and file each girl's feet after she soaks for three minutes.

14. Paint each tween's toes and add toe separators. File and paint each girl's fingernails and use a blow dryer to get them dry quickly.

15. Plop tweens on a couch with their feet up and play a movie while their toe nails continue to dry. Send them each home with a fresh bottle of nail polish as a favor.
