Canvas paintings are a great way to accent your home and personality. They can be more personable than just regular posters or framed pictures. Canvas paintings need a secure anchor to the wall in order for their weight to be held up.
Instructions
1. Decide where to hang the canvas painting. This depends upon the size of the canvas and where you feel the color scheme or design will match best in the house. Also, make sure that you pick a wall space that is not curved because the canvas painting will not be able to be secured. If you choose a wall space high up on a wall, you will need a ladder.
2. Use the tape measure to measure the dimensions of the canvas painting. You will need to know the exact measurements of the width of the canvas. Record the measurements.
3. Use the level to set the canvas painting measurements on the wall. Mark where each side of the canvas edge will end with the pencil. This will be where the nails will go into the wall and hold up the canvas painting. Place one circle marking on the far left edge, one directly in the center and one at the far right. Make sure the level measures straight across so the painting will appear straight.
4. Use the hammer to securely pound a nail into each of the three markings on the wall space. The nail should be at least an inch into the wall and at least a 1/2 inch out of the wall so the canvas painting can hang comfortably and securely.
5. Place the canvas painting onto the three nails once they are secured. Before letting go, make sure that the canvas is secured to the wall and will not fall. Step back and examine your work. The painting should be straight across and even. If you decide you don't like the location, you can change it to another wall space using the same process.
