Graco Airless Fresh paint Sprayer Instructions

Paint sprayers are an alternative to rollers.

Spray painting used to be a technique professional painters used. Amateurs used brushes and rollers. Now most people with large painting jobs use spray painters like the ones made by Graco for the big surfaces. There really are only two things to remember about these devices. The first is that sprayers spread paint farther than a brush so mask off surfaces you don't want to paint with tape, paper and drop cloths. The other is to keep the paint gun moving. If you aim the gun at one spot for too long, the spray quickly becomes a drip.

Instructions

1. Remove spray tip and guard from the paint gun. Connect one end of the hose to the gun and the other end to the sprayer with two adjustable wrenches.

2. Turn the "AllControl" to "Off." Plug the sprayer into a grounded outlet.

3. Press down and turn the hopper handle. Remove the hopper cover.

4. Unclip the small drain tube from inside the hopper and place the end of the tube into a waste pail. Put the hopper liner into the hopper and thread the inlet screen into the bottom of the liner by hand.

5. Pour water into the hopper if you intend to spray water-based paint. Pour oil-based paint thinner into the hopper if you intend to spray oil-based paint.

6. Turn the control to "Prime/Clean Pump." Allow fluid to flow out of the drain tube into the waste pail until the hopper is empty. Turn the control to "Off."

7. Fill the hopper with paint. Turn the control to "Prime/Clean Pump." Turn the control to "Off" when paint starts to come out of the drain tube.

8. Clip the drain tube back inside of the hopper. Trigger the paint gun into the waste pail and turn the control to "Prime/Clean Gun & Hose." Release the trigger when paint sprays from the gun.

9. Push the trigger safety button to "Safety On." Hand tighten the painting tip and guard onto the gun.

10. Turn the control clockwise to increase spray pressure and counter-clockwise to decrease spray pressure.

11. Point the gun at surface you want to spray from about 1 foot away and begin to move the gun before you pull the trigger.
