Latex paint
is one the most commonly used house paints on the market due to its numerous advantages over oil-based paints. It has versatile interior and exterior uses and is more eco-friendly overall. Removing paint from woodwork is normally a challenging task that is not even worth attempting in some cases. Fortunately one of the other convenient traits of latex paint is that you can always remove it from most surfaces using the proper solvent.
Instructions
1. Choose a solvent that contains alcohol and glycol when shopping for a commercial remover. These environmentally safe household cleaners can effectively remove dried and cured latex paint from virtually any surface.
2. Clean any loose debris and residue from the woodwork before removing the paint. Wipe down the surface with a damp cloth.
3. Prepare a well-ventilated area if your workspace is indoors. Open a window or leave a door to the room open.
4. Spray the solvent directly onto the painted surface, and allow it to set for the instructed length of time. Use a dry rag to wipe the product, and the paint should loosen from the woodwork.
5. Rinse the excess paint with a wet sponge, and dry it with a clean cloth. Repeat the process to remove especially thick coats of latex paint.
