Organize Painting Supplies

Separate paint brushes by size.

There are a lot of supplies associated with any art project, whether it's a whole house remodeling job or a few acrylic-covered canvases needing paint. One of the biggest hassles with these supplies is attempting to locate the correct tool or paint color if there is disorganization. Properly organizing painting supplies in a garage, art studio or work room will ensure that a house painter or artist can locate what he needs much quicker.

Instructions

1. Sort all of the paints by color. Smaller cans of paint can be placed into a shoe box or clear plastic tote.

2. Place the newly organized paint colors on a shelf. Label any boxes filled with smaller paint containers with the date and the colors they contain. Hang the shelves higher on a wall if they are in a room that is accessible to small children or pets.

3. Place the paint brushes into three or four drawers of a plastic dresser. Divide the brushes by size and label the drawers with the size or type of brush each contains. For instance, larger paint brushes can be placed in a bigger bottom drawer.

4. Place paint rollers into a clear plastic tote. Label the container and place it onto a shelf. Set the foam rollers into their own smaller container to ensure they are not damaged during storage.

5. Store miscellaneous painting supplies in a separate plastic tote. These could include sponges, hole filler, paint stirrers, pouring spouts, paint removers, rubber gloves and safety goggles.
