Fresh paint Fabric Tshirts For Any Child'S Party

Painting T-shirts is a great party activity. It allows the children to be creative, get messy, and create a party favor they can use again and again. Most kids love crafts, and T-shirt painting is a structured activity that will keep kids busy and entertained. Parents will be thankful that their child is not coming home with a sack full of cheap toys and candy. Follow these simple steps to plan a perfect T-shirt painting party for your child.

Instructions

1. Wash all the T-shirts before the party. A chemical called sizing is often present on the T-shirts. The purpose for this chemical is make new T-shirts crisp. The sizing can interfere with the adhesion of the paint to the shirt. When you wash, do not use fabric softener.

2. Cover the work area with newspaper. Lay the T-shirts flat.

3. Insert cardboard or poster board inside each shirt. Pull the shirt tight against the cardboard, securing the arms in the back with tape. The cardboard will prevent the paint from seeping through to the back of the shirt.

4. Pour fabric paint into empty disposable pie tins. You can also set out fabric paint markers and tubes of puffy paints. All of these items can be found at a craft store. Supply items to apply the paint such as different sizes of brushes, stamps, and sponges.

5. Allow the kids to go a little crazy--supervised of course. Encourage them to use their imagination and let their creative juices flow. Let them try each paint and applicator available.

6. Keep the shirts flat while drying. Each fabric paint container should have drying instructions and times listed.
