Paint Shop Pro has several tools to doctor, edit and resample your photos. You can play around with graphics to add text, incorporate several images into one and even change the coloring on the photo. Using Paint Shop Pro to change the hair color in a photo allows you to get a preview of a desired hair color before making the physical change. Or, you can use the tool to just play around for fun and entertainment. No matter why you want to change the hair color in a photo, it is simple to do using Paint Shop Pro.
Instructions
1. Open the photo in Paint Shop Pro. Click on "File" > "Open" on the menu bar inside the program.
2. Click on the "Freehand Selection Tool" icon in the editing toolbar. Change the "selection type" to "Point to Point" in the properties window. Drag the mouse pointer to select the hair in the photo.
3. Click on "Selections" > "Modify" > "Feather" in the menu bar. The "Feather Selection" window appears. Click in the "Number of pixels" box and change it to "6."
4. Look in the "Layers" palette on the right side of the window and find "Background." Right-click on the "Background" layer and then click "Promote Selection to Layer." Click anywhere outside of the selected hair to deselect it.
5. Click on "Brightness & Contrast" and then "Curves." Change the brightness of the hair to lighten it. Click on the "Channels" drop-down box to change the RGB values to lighten or darken the natural color of the hair.
6. Click on "Adjust" > "Hue & Saturation" > "Colorize" to change the hair color in the photo to another color. Adjust the "Hue" and "Saturation" values to change the color to the color you want.
