Ladder jacks snap onto ladders to make scaffolding.
Painting a house by yourself is a challenge. By using ladder jacks and multiple ladders, you can easily paint one side at a time without having to touch the ground.
About Ladder Jacks
A ladder jack is a tool that rests between the ladder and the wall. It hooks onto the ladder and consists of a flat section that is meant to hold a board or piece of metal. By placing another ladder and ladder jack several feet down from the first one, you can set up makeshift scaffolding.
20-inch Ladder Jacks
Ladder jacks are measured based on how far they project the ladder from the wall. A 20-inch ladder jack pushes the ladder out 20 inches, leaving a big enough gap to hold a very wide board or piece of metal. The larger the gap, the safer the scaffolding will be because there is more space to walk around on.
14-Inch Ladder Jacks
A 14-inch ladder jack only pushes the ladder up a little over a foot, so there isn't as much room on the scaffolding as you would have with a larger jack. The smaller jack is better for smaller projects, where less scaffolding is needed.
