Art Classes In Torrington Ct

Torrington offers a wide variety of art classes.


Torrington, Conn., spreads over 40 square miles, and with a resident count of just over 35,000, is densely populated. The city is equally dense in culture and art. It's main attractions are the renowned Nutmeg Conservatory, the Nutmeg Ballet and the historical Warner Theater, but the city also has a thriving visual art community, where a wide variety of art classes are offered.


University of Connecticut, Torrington


The University of Connecticut, Torrington campus, offers art classes in its continuing education program. The school offers a drawing class during its fall session and an art appreciation class during both summer and fall sessions. Both classes are for college credit.

Artwell


Artwell is located in downtown Torrington. It is a not-for-profit community arts center that has an art gallery, as well as art classes. The organization offers classes for children and adults year-round in both fine arts and digital media. The classes are reasonably priced and offered to artists of any level.

D'Ambruoso Studios


Sam D'Ambruoso teaches a still-life drawing and painting class in his private studio in Torrington. The class is limited to no more than six people, beginning to advanced levels, and costs $400. The media used are graphite, charcoal, oil and pastels. The teacher recommends students register far in advance, as the class fills up fast. He offers the course once a year, and it meets once a week for three hours for eight weeks.
