The bigger your roller, the sooner you will finish painting the floor.
Floors in concert halls and venues are usually subjected to less than ideal circumstances: There are a lot of people walking and dancing on these floors, as well as heavy equipment being dragged or wheeled over them. Because of this it is necessary to paint the floor with paint that will endure these conditions and last for a long time. The technique of painting is also subjected to what type of floor you are dealing with.
Instructions
Wood Floor
1. Prepare the floor for painting. Go over the entire floor with a sander on which you attached fine-grit paper. This will make your floor ready for paint.
2. Clean the floor. Get some detergent and water to wash the entire floor. Mix detergent with water in a bucket and clean the entire floor with a mop. Get rid of all dirt, dust and oil.
3. Paint the floor. Use a large paint roller and start at the outer edges of the floor and cut in. Attach a roller to a painting pole and paint the center of the floor. Paint in the direction of the door. Allow the paint to dry, and apply a second coat if necessary.
Concrete Floor
4. Clean the floor. Mix detergent and water in a bucket and scrub the floor with a scrub brush. After you cleaned the floor you need to wait for it to get completely dry. You may want to bring in a large fan to help the floor dry faster.
5. Use the paint roller to paint the floor. Start at the side of the room that is opposite to the door and move toward the door while you paint. Apply the paint in thin and even coats and wait until the first coat is completely dry before you apply the second. This can take between one to five hours, depending how humid the area is.
6. Wait until the paint has completely dried and then apply the paint sealer in the same manner in which you applied the paint. This will help protect the paint and make it last longer.
